Client et fan de ELEVENPARIS depuis des années, Baptiste Giabiconi rêvait de réaliser sa propre ligne de prêt-à-porter. C’est chose faite ! La marque parisienne lui a donné carte blanche pour la création d’une ligne capsule ELEVENPARIS x GIABICONI dont le lancement est prévu le 13 mars dans les boutiques françaises et en pré-commande dès le 6 mars sur le e-shop www.elevenparis.com. Une façon pour Baptiste de fêter en grande pompe la création de son blog www.giabiconistyle.com.
Depuis qu’il a 19 ans, Baptiste est la muse de Karl Lagerfeld et défile pour Chanel, mais même également une carrière de mannequin international et pose pour Vogue à Paris ou au Japon, fait la couverture de l’Officiel , chante et voit son nombre de fans augmenter de jours en jours. Pour autant, Baptiste ne se prend pas au sérieux et c’est ce qui ressort de cette collaboration
dont la ligne directrice est l’amusement. Jamais bien loin, lorsqu’il s’agit de son petit protégé, Karl Lagerfeld a souhaité shooter lui même la campagne ELEVENPARIS x BAPTISTE GIABICONI, dans son studio parisien.
Le directeur artistique de Chanel réputé pour son sens aigu de l’autodérision et son goût pour la provocation a également souhaité s’inviter dans la nouvelle série de tee-shirts ELEVENPARIS, « FAMILY ». Il prête ainsi son nom à un tee-shirt et à un sweat-shirt « Karl is my father » , en flocage effet velours noir.

This editorial, « A Hungarian Boy from Youngstown », is a tribute to James and his Hungarian and Romanian roots and to all immigrants who have sacrificed their lives in 12-hour shifts in factories in order to provide their children with a better life. James Cancel, the model, is the son of immigrant parents from Hungary who came to Youngstown because others from their family had come before them. Little did they know the city was nearly dead when they got there. The logo I created is a modern rendition of the old Youngstown Sheet & Tube logo, the steel mill for which Youngstown, Ohio, was famous and the steel mill that drew tens of thousands of immigrants to Ohio to work in the sweatshops and steel factories.
For nearly 75 years, that factory provided work to immigrants from all over Eastern Europe, the Irish, the Italian and Puerto Ricans from the Caribbean. In the mid-70s, Youngstown Sheet & Tube closed and the Youngstown economy was devastated. Within 20 years, the city had lost 75 percent of its population and had nearly gone bankrupt. For a time in the 90s, Youngstown’s major trade was drugs and it was the murder capital in the United States.
Now, art galleries have begun to spring up in abandoned buildings and a beer company has set up shop in the old railroad station. Slowly but surely, the City of Youngstown is trying to be reborn.
